1952年9月21日に旧ドイツ連邦共和国のバイエルン州で生まれた女の子。
カトリック教信者の両親の元で生まれ、彼女自身も信仰深く
週に2度、教会のミサに通うほど信仰が深かった。
1968年、ミシェルは16歳の高校生の時に突如として激しい痙攣に悩まされるようになる。
医療機関で診察を受けたが側頭葉てんかんがあると診断、
薬を処方され効果あってかしばらくの間は治まっていたが
やがて幻覚を見たり、体を何かに持ち上げられベッドに叩きつけられるような
不可解な行動を取るようになる。
処方された薬を飲み続けるも症状が改善されることはなく、
クモやハエを食べ、自傷行為がひどくなっていき、
ミシェルの声とは到底思えないような声で喋りだし、
話したこともないラテン語を喋るようになった。
1973年、ミシェルが20歳の時に両親は教会に悪魔祓いを依頼。
が、教会側に断られたために病院で処方される薬を飲んで対処するも日に日に症状は悪化する一途だった。
1975年になってようやく教会の司祭が悪魔祓いの実施を決定し、
1975年から76年にかけて約10ヶ月間に渡って儀式が執り行われた。
儀式は週に1～2回、長い時は1度に4時間かかることもあった。
悪魔祓いでは以下6体の悪魔がミッシェルについていたことが判明した。

ユダ
ネロ
ヴァレンティン・フライシュマン
アドルフ・ヒトラー
悪魔祓いの甲斐むなしく、ミシェルは半飢餓状態と脱水によって1976年7月1日に死亡した。
この時彼女の体重は30キロにまで落ち、あまりに痩せてしまっていたために
儀式の礼拝で脚のすねを骨折する程だった。
